title pic Thrifty Tip Of The Day – Black Friday Deals Now

Posted by oshun on November 26, 2009

Many online stores are having Black Friday sales early. Here’s a few:

Currently, Walmart tops the insane deal heap with stuff like the Dark Knight DVD for $5, BlueRay discs for $10, and boys’ fleece-lined winter boots for $7.

Apple may just steal the insane deal crown from Walmart on Friday with a top-secret, one-day sale that won’t be completely revealed just yet.

In the meantime, save up to 78% off movie and television DVDs at Amazon.com includes choices like Slumdog Millionaire, and Harry Potter. Find more Amazon Black Friday sale items right now, but keep in mind there’ll be new ones added each day until.

Best Buy starts Black Friday online tomorrow, Thanksgiving day. You can get a HP laptop for an insane $197 or a Palm Pre smartphone for $79 (estimated value over $500) or a Tom Tom GPS system for $99 (50% off). Since the in-store Best Buy sale doesn’t start until Friday, it seems like online is the best way to go in this case. View the circular.

Plus, there are some really cool sites that can give you a great summary and heads up for deals including the Type A shoppers’ dream Deals Vista, BlackFriday.info, where you can make up a shopping list, or BlackFridayAds for daily updates.

And, don’t forget to follow the Black Friday Twitter account.

Happy Thanksgiving and happy shopping!

title pic Thrifty Tip Of The Day – Being Frugal With Time

Posted by oshun on November 18, 2009

Sometimes as working moms, we learn the hard way that it’s important to be frugal with your time as well as your money.

This is one of those times for me. Demands on my time are reaching a peak now that I am finishing up a very important project that is in vital need of even more of my immediate, and total attention.

That means, the undivided attention that is left after working outside the home, dealing with a five year old with new teeth coming in, and all manner of family demands.

So I’ll be taking a short break from the daily thrifty tips. I will return at the beginning of next week. I sincerely hope this doesn’t inconvenient anyone. But in the meantime, please visit my site ThriftyWAHM.com and check out our blogroll of great sister sites chock full of thrifty tips and frugal advice.

See you soon!

BEST,

Kudos to CouponDivas who compiled this lengthy list of restaurants where kids can eat free.

You can find establishments for any day of the week (including Saturday and Sunday), and for almost anytime of day. Included are old standbys such as IHOP, along with Fuddruckers, Chevys, Golden Corral, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Chick fil A, Bennigan’s, Jason’s Deli, and so many more.

Honestly though, while we appreciate the offer who would take their kid to eat at Hooters at 11 pm?

Veteran’s Day is this coming Wednesday (Nov. 11, 2009) and there are a number of Veteran’s Day freebies being offered to the good men and women who have served our country as part of the armed forces.

Here’s a quick list of a few free food offers. All that’s required is proof of past or current service. Let me know, in the comment section, if there’s anything (food or non-food) I missed. Also, call your location to make sure they’re participating before making the trip down. God bless our troops.

Applebees – Free entree. Choose from pasta, sirloin, burgers, chicken and more.
Krispy Kreme - All participating locations will give one free doughnut, your choice of flavor.
