Thrifty Tip Of The Day – Free Summer Movies For The Family
Posted by oshun on May 18, 2009
Now’s the time for parents across the country to start planning family friendly activities for the next 3 months. A favorite of mine is free G-rated movies. There are a number of chains that are offering these kinds of free flicks to satisfy the kiddies as well as your wallet. Here’s a few:
AMC Theatres Summer MovieCamp
A free flick every Wednesday
Cinemark Summer Movie Clubhouse
Rave Motion Pictures Free Family Film Festival
Also every Tuesday and Wednesday
Regal Cinemas Free Family Film Festival
Free kiddie flicks every Tuesday and Wednesday
Get more theaters here and here.
Also check your local parks for free films. Many public parks in major cities show free films during those hot summer nights, and all you need do is bring some blankets, yummy picnic fare, and of course your little ones who will have a blast. Google around for your local area and you might be surprised what you find. Enjoy the show(s)!

Thanks for posting this Ife – just the other day I was reminiscing and telling my kids how the movies theaters use to have a summer subscription where you would see a movie on the big screen once a week. I was telling them how I wish the theaters would do that now and lo and behold here is your post. We are excited to participate in this and to know that AMC is doing it for charity is an extra bonus.
